Here's a little bit of history behind the foxy lady! |

My
Personal Life I was born on December 1, 1983. I grew up in Grand Rapids, Michigan until I moved away to Florida in 2003 for school. In spring of 2004 I moved from Florida to North Carolina to live with my fiance - my dad had pulled any financial help for school, and I didn't want to drive myself incredibly into debt. I'm now back in St. Augustine, Florida and living quite contently on the shore. :) |

On June 4, 2005, my fiance Joe and I were finally married - after having known each other since early 1997. Our wedding was simple and beautiful - for some gorgeous photos from that event, you can click here to be redirected to the web site of our photographer. ;) |

My
husband and I have a bunch of pets. We have three ferrets, named
Luna, Rosie and Slinky; a degu named Buddy; a lovebird named
Peachy Keen; two betta fish without names, and a Cuban tree frog
named, for lack of any original ideas, "Castro." :P We absolutely adore all of our animals, and spoil them rotten. They're so much fun and can always make us smile. :) |

My
involvement in the furry fandom A lot of people don't know how I came to be a part of the fandom currently known as "furry." The furry fandom means something different to everyone involved, and this is what it means to me. Nothing more, nothing less than what I have to say here. |
|
|
Like many people, it wasn't really a conscious choice to join up with the fandom. In middle school, my best friends got me hooked on a book series called "Redwall." We joined the Redwall Club online, and would have adventures on the MUCK (text-based role playing game) that was based on the book series. It was there that I also met my future husband. :) |
|
|
Some
of my friends on Redwall MUCK drew pictures of their characters.
My real-life friends and I started to draw our characters and
situations that they were in as well. It certainly made things
more interesting to illustrate the situations we would role-play! A couple of my friends had galleries on a web site known then as the SCFA, or Squeaky Clean Furry Archive. SCFA still exists today, but it's now known as Yerf. |

After high school, I started to really get serious about my artwork. In 2002, I attended Anthrocon, my first ever furry convention, and I had an absolute blast. I drew in sketchbooks with friends, and generally had a good time. This was also where I first encountered people running around in fursuits, or mascot-styled animal costumes. Everyone was having so much fun, and I really enjoyed myself. |
|
|
To date, I've attended about seven furry conventions, including Anthrocon, Midwest Furfest, and Furry Weekend Atlanta. During many of those conventions, I've sold artwork in the Artist's Alley or Dealer's Den. Also, for three years running, I've been a guest at Furry Weekend, and this year have had artwork both in the art show and in the convention book. |

Unlike popular belief about the "real" furry fandom thanks to recent media coverage, I do not believe myself to be a real animal inside a human's body. When I wear my costumes, I do not feel that I am my "true" self - instead, I feel as though I am a different character, and more free to act goofy. ;) To me, the furry fandom is all about making friends through the things I have to offer: artwork and costuming. Thanks to the furry fandom I have hundreds of friends across the world, many of whom I've met in person as well, due to furry conventions I've been to. For me, furry is not a fetish, it's not an obsession, it's not even a lifestyle. It's simply something I have in common with other people, something that brings me closer to other people that have more than just "furry" in common with me. |
